Hi,
Great to see you in my blog,
Nice that your are back to read my new blog.
In this blog the journey continues to the publishing of my first e-book.
In my previous blog I wrote about a blue print that I made.
A guide for me to follow through in publishing my ebook with a step by step process what I needed to do. On the website of Maria Staal, see my previous blog, I read that it was very important to have your own website for your book. Readers must have a place to land and find all the information they need about your book and you as an author. I started looking how I could create a website for my book. I already had a website for my business and I decided to add the book there.
I created my business website with wordpress.com.

I made my business website after following a tutorial of Ferdy Korpershoek. A brilliant dutch guy who makes websites and shares this knowledge in a tutorial. So I added an extra page to my existing site to make this the landingspage for my book. But before I started implementing this on wordpress I had to figure out what information must be on the website.
To get this information I had to search for specialized knowledge on google. Where to start first, of course the website of Joanna Penn (see my previous blog) , she is an author for years and has tons of experience.
Joanna Penn
As was reading on her website and she tells about her mother, Jacqui Penn who is also an author. Joanna has a tutorial on her website about making your own website for your book and tells here about the website of her mother, click HERE to visit the website. That was just what I needed. The website is simple but it includes everything that a reader needs. I made a blueprint of what information should be on the website for my book. I made a blueprint of what information should be on the website for my book. I used all the knowledge of both mother and daughter to develop my website. What was important is that I needed to create a brand for me as an author.
The first thing I needed to do was to create a brandname for me as an author. Something that people can easily recognize and know. I sat down and started thinking of a good name for my website. Then an idea came in my mind, look on google how other authors choose a name for their website. What I found was that most authors use their own name as a brand. Mmm, maybe I should also so this. I decided my brand name was going to be: lorettaborbooks. Wow, step 1 was done.

With this brandname, I also needed to find a good picture for my website as a brand logo. I started looking at pixabay and found my brand logo. Now I could begin to work in wordpress on my website. Step by step it began to take form. Thanks to the knowledge of Ferdy Korpershoek my website structure was quite easily created. Joanna says you also need to have a blog on hour website and post new information regularly and invite readers to sign up for your blog.
This will generate more traffic and you can reach a lager audience. I created my blog on my website with blogger.com but eventualy I made the blog on the website. In my next blog I will tell about social media. Social media is the number 1 tool to promoot your book. Writing a book is only 5% of your job, the greatest part is the promotion 95%. Be sure to read my upcoming blog and stay updated of my journey in writing my first book.
